Pristurus insignis - Blanford's Rock Gecko
Socotran endemic species. A large sized species, with maximum length to around 16 cm, Head short and
squat, tapered body with long tail. The colour varies from light to dark brown with longitudinal dark
stripes interrupted by light spots. This gecko is typically associated with cliffs; extremely agile and
dynamic it can be observed while runs head down along walls and cracks. It is also rather frequent along
steep banks of wadies.
